Sapphorica Creations Japanese Boat Art Card
Japanese Boat pays tribute to the Japanese Canadians who contributed to the growth and cultural diversity within the BC Canning Industry. From fishing to working in the Canneries themselves, reminders of their labours can be seen today across heritage sites around the West Coast such as the Britannia Shipyards in Steveston (Richmond) British Columbia, Canada. Loosely based upon the last Japanese-Canadian fishing vessel, Merriwake, a 31’ gill netter built in 1929 by master builder Isamu “Sam” Matsumoto. It is now located in historical Slocan, BC.
Japanese Boat is popular amongst collectors of nautical and sea artifacts, fishing enthusiasts and lovers of heritage. Great for framing as a print, Father's Day, Birthdays and any occasion.
